It has been SO great to have a garden this year. One of the best surprises was finding out that the little "weed" we almost plucked out of the ground was actually a watermelon plant. So, we watered it and lo and behold, it produced SIX gigantic watermelons. They were very tasty, and we didn't even plant them! They came up because someone planted them last year. Sweet. We also cultivated green peppers, potatoes, cherry tomatoes and regular tomatoes, carrots, beets, crookneck squash, and cucumbers. Yummy!
That watermelon is bigger than your baby! What great gardeners you are. You must be really proud of yourselves!
ReplyDeleteNow that's actual talent! You need your own gardening show on HGTV: "The Accidental Gardner" or "How to Grow Fruits and Vegetables Bigger Than Your Head!" Seriously, I know people who try for years to grow watermelons on purpose who don't get fruit like that! Happy you get to hoe your own!
