Birthdays and More Demolition

We celebrated Blair's birthday with a great cheese cake.  Cheese cake is one of Blair's favorite desserts.  All enjoyed the dessert and party.  Here are some pictures of the finished bathroom.

Shortly after we finished the inside of the bathroom.  We noticed that the baseboard on the family room side of the wall was bowing at the bottom and appeared wet.  This seemed strange because we had torn the bathroom side of the wall apart to check for leaks and found none.  Well, we discovered that the cabinet above the toilet had been screwed to the wall by the previous home owner and they missed the stud and drilled into the water drain instead.  When the cabinet and screws were removed to paint, the leak reappeared.   Here are the pics of the other side of the wall.

On the back side of the pipe to the right was were the hole was.  We called a plumber and he cut out and repaired the pipe.  Blair then proceeded to sheet rock, tape, mud, sand, prime, paint, and apply the new base board.

Finished product...finally!

EASTER

We love Easter time!  We have so much to celebrate!  We welcome the opportunity to celebrate the life and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ, the end of winter, and spring with all the new life that appears.  Of course we get excited about spending time with the grand parents and hunting for Easter eggs too.

The boys love spending time with their cousin Taisley!

All the boys got hair cuts to be ready for Easter Sunday the next day.

TEXAS SIZED PARTY

Jodi's sister Stephanie and brother-in-law John are moving to Texas.  John obtained a promotion at his job.  We decided to have a party to send them off in style.  The theme for the meal was Tex-Mex and BBQ. Lots of great food and dessert!

The first phase of tile and base board is complete.

The Demolition Progress

Here are some pictures of how the project is coming together.  We thought it was coming along nicely.  The walls are patched and painted and the floor is already for new tile.

I guess Matt has heard us talking about our face lift project and thought he would also do his own bit of face lifting.  What do you think of his improved looks.

He got a hold of Jodi's eye pencil.

Valentine's Day

Jodi is a great cook and does so much with so little!  This year Jodi made heart shaped dairy free pizza (to accommodate Will's dairy allergy).  It was great!  The boys loved it.  Jodi decorated the table and house with red, pink, and white decorations.  The boys also wanted to decorate, so the found several toys that were red and added those to the Valentine decor.  Here is what our celebration looked like.

DEMOLITION BEGINS

Inside projects are in full swing...ha ha ha.   When we moved into our home, we kept the downstairs half bathroom intact while we remodeled the rest of the house.  Blair is now getting around to giving the last bathroom a face lift.  Here are some pics of the boys starting the project.  Blair is excited to show his boys how to wreck and repair.

We thought we had a leak coming from one of the drain pipes.  That is why we removed some sheet rock.

Now we are removing the old and badly cracked tile.

Hammer and chisel weren't enough to get the last of the tile off the cement.

The air hammer was needed to finish off the last of the old tile.
