How 'bout a Song?

My two boys

Just thought I'd post some of the cute things my little sons have been doing lately. The videos that follow pretty much speak for themselves, but I'll give a bit of background. Last week our neighbor dropped off a CD player for us to take to another member of our ward who is in a care center. We've always just played CD's through our computer and haven't ever had a separate CD player. Will is fascinated. He has already completey scratched up two of my old CDs. He is excited everymorning to go put in a CD and dance to some music. His favorite is the Jackson 5. He asks me every day, "You want to hear ABC?" and carefully puts in the CD like he's a professional DJ. His dance moves are also incredible.

Matt has started smiling up a storm. He still isn't on a schedule because he sleeps so much during the day that there is no time for a nap! He's been doing a little better at night. Sometimes he sleeps until 5:00 am and other times he's up every three hours. He just can't make up his mind. But, his cute smiles and cooing make it worth it.

I wrote down a list of funny things Will said this week. He always keeps me laughing with his comments, but I forget them so quickly. So, I determined this week to jot them down and thought I'd share a few of them.
One night I left will on the bathroom counter to brush his teeth while I went into my room to change the baby. I heard some noise that sounded like the toilet paper roll unrolling, so I walked curiously towards the bathroom. I stopped in the doorway as I saw Will. He was unaware I was there as he had draped toilet paper around his head and had it hanging to about chest level. He was moving his head back in forth in the mirror and saying to his reflection: "I'm a shepherd! I'm a shepherd!" Where did he come up with that one? I died laughing.
A few days ago he came up behind me in my room and swatted my legs and said, "Nice jeans mom!" I said thanks and then he walked to the door and stopped. He turned around and said, "You're really cool!" I thanked him again.
Lastly, he's been on this kick lately where he goes to bed just fine, but wants us to leave the door slightly open. He snuggles up like he's going to sleep and we leave. About 20 minutes later he starts yelling out random questions to us. I think it's because he can hear us doing things and is trying to guess what it is we're doing. Some of his yelling questions have been, "Hey mom! You cleaning up the kitchen?" "Hey Dad! You playing on the computer?" My favorite though, and the most random, was a few nights ago. I was doing dishes after putting Will to bed much later than he should have been put to bed. It had been a long day and Blair was running an errand. I just wanted to finish the dishes and go to sleep. I could hear Will yelling a question at me from his room, but couldn't tell what he was saying exactly. I ignored him for about 5 minutes, thinking maybe I'd get lucky and he'd just get tired and go to bed. His question just got louder and louder. I finished the dishes and marched to his room ready to give him the "what for" about not just going to sleep. I walked in and said, "What Will? What are you asking me?" He looked shocked at my exasperated tone of voice and simply looked at me and repeated his question: "Do you have brown eyes?" I was so struck by the funny question that I just started laughing. I said, "No, you know I have blue eyes. Now will you please lay down and go to sleep?" He looked at me very satisfied and said, "Okay," and laid down and went to sleep. Who is this kid? I don't know where he comes up with this stuff, but at least it keeps things interesting!
